Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced fresh cherries
  • 2/3 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar divided
  • 2 cups cold whipping cream (33-35%)
  • 1 cup cold whole milk (3.5%)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine the diced cherries and the 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small bowl: mix together and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the cream, milk, vanilla and remaining sugar and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Add the cherries (including the juice) and stir to combine.

  3. Process the mixture in the ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  4. Once done, pour the mixture into a freezer safe container or a loaf pan lined with parchment paper and freeze until firm, approximately 2 hours, before serving.
