Slow Cooker Hot Chicken Sandwiches

A perfect make-ahead, low-prep dinner, these slow cooker hot chicken sandwiches have a spicy-but-not-too-spicy kick!

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Frank's hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup water

To Serve:

  • 4 hamburger buns halved
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 4 dill pickles sliced
  • ½ head iceberg lettuce shredded

Instructions

  1. To the base of a crockpot add the chicken, hot sauce, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and water.

  2. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. When the chicken is done, shred the chicken in the slow cooker using two forks.

  3. Toast the buns if desired.

  4. Assemble the sandwiches with mayonnaise on the bun topped with the shredded chicken, pickles, and iceberg lettuce.
