Guilty as charged, my desk was a COMPLETE disaster.

The other day I was having one of THOSE days. You know the ones - nothing was clicking, my focus was completely shot, and everything just felt... off. So I set a timer for 10 minutes and did a full desk reset.

Cleared all the clutter (no judgment please 😅), wiped everything down, organized my to-do list, and honestly? I felt like a completely different person afterward.

5 years of Whistler memories.

This year’s trip was a quick one with everything going on at home, but it was so needed. There’s something about those familiar mountains, the beautiful winding roads that lead us there each fall (and the car sickness every year, lol), the same sweet faces who greet us (love our Fairmont “family”), and watching the boys grow up in the same hallways that makes it all feel timeless.

Every year, it hits me how fast time moves. Charlie is now walking in size 11 shoes, Max right behind him, and I can still see their little footprints from our first trip here (or more likely their fingerprints, you know, boys).

Whistler has become our reset button. Our tradition. A reminder to slow down and hold on to the things that matter most. I didn’t book @flytographer this year (and I definitely missed it), but here’s a mix of my favourite photos from the past five years, filtered and unfiltered. ❤️

I’m putting together a blog post soon to help you plan your own Whistler getaway with all our favourite places to stay, eat, and explore. And do I hear a giveaway coming?!

Breaking news: I’m officially in menopause!🍾😅

Getting older is a trip. The hot flashes have cooled down, but my patience? Gone. My skin? Less bouncy. My brain? Let’s just say I think I have Alzheimer’s every second day. And who ordered chin hairs? Not me.

Still, this stage has brought something unexpected: wisdom, perspective, and the ability to say no without guilt (okay, less guilt).

Soft layers, dreamy buttercream, and a finish that feels perfectly imperfect - just like life.

With my birthday around the corner, I couldn’t resist baking something simple and sweet to celebrate. 💛

Here’s how I ice my Naked Cake! 👇

1. Make sure your cake is completely cool before starting.
2. Use a bit of frosting to anchor the first layer to your plate or stand!
3. Spread frosting evenly between layers using a spatula.
4. Pro tip: dip your spatula in hot water for a smooth spread!
5. Don’t stress about perfection!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

That’s it! It’s rustic, but so elegant. One thing I’ve learned at 47? The best things in life don’t need much dressing up. 🎀
