Would you believe me if I told you this was the same house?

When Charles and I bought this place, it was a “this has serious potential” situation. It was a MAJOR project but we love this home we’ve built. ❤️

It’s taught us what we loved, what we’d do differently, and what’s worth the splurge.

$Why is styling throw pillows so challenging? Here’s my go-to tips for making it a little easier: 🛋️ Change out your throw pillows or put on a different pillow cover. This instantly makes your couch feel new, but without the price tag of actually buying a new couch. Charles fully approves of this message, lol. 😅 🤍 Add a textured throw. Layers breathe life into your pieces and make the whole room feel softer and more finished. ✨ Pick a colour palette you are loving and play with it. I am leaning into light blues and straw tones for that spring is coming energy. And do not be afraid of pattern, too symmetrical can look a little… well, stiff. Bonus tip: I try and just shop for covers and use the same inserts each season. That way it’s way less to keep in storage! Cocktails are looking a little different these days. 😅 Introducing: my menopause margarita. Also known as… Spa Water. 🍋

Here’s how to make my favourite spa water. All you need is:

• One big pitcher of water (yes, I’ve been toting this around the house like it’s my own personal water bottle)

• Collagen + electrolytes (optional, but I love them)

• Fresh citrus + fruit

• Lots of ice

Add your water and any supplement powders first (if you’re using them) and mix well. Then add your citrus, fruit, and ice. Let it sit so the flavours intensify. Sip it slowly, refill your glass, and repeat. Pretend it’s happy hour.

And this was after I cleaned it…
My biggest bathroom renovation regret? White grout on small tile (in a BIG space)😩

I was warned. Multiple people told me it would be a nightmare to keep clean. And did I listen? Absolutely not. I fell in love with the hexagon marble penny tile and thought “how bad could it really be?”

The answer is: VERY bad.

The tile itself? Still obsessed. The white grout? My arch nemesis. If I could go back, I’d choose literally any other grout color and save myself hours of futile scrubbing on my hands and knees trying to keep it looking ‘fresh’.

So here’s my PSA: if you’re considering small tile for your bathroom floor, learn from my mistake and skip the white grout. Future you will thank me 😅
