Let’s level up that garnish game. 👩‍🍳✨🌱

I was recently at a high-end restaurant in Vancouver and saw the kitchen putting chive oil on, like, everything. I had to figure out how to make it at home!

This homemade chive oil is a chef’s secret weapon: simple, ultra flavourful, and instantly makes everything prettier (and tastier).

Chive Oil Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 bunch fresh chives (about 1 cup, chopped)
• ½ cup neutral oil (like grapeseed, avocado, or light olive oil)
• Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:
1. Blanch the chives (optional, but keeps the colour vibrant): Boil water, blanch (submerge) chopped chives for 10 seconds, then pop into an ice bath.
2. Dry well with paper towel.
3. Blend chives + oil on high for 1–2 minutes until smooth and bright green.
4. Strain through cheesecloth or a fine sieve into a clean jar or bottle.
5. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Drizzle over eggs, roasted potatoes, grilled veggies, soups, even toast. Trust me....you’ll feel like a total chef.

Skin treatments I swear by at 47 🤍

Aging is a privilege - and I’m here for it. But I also believe in looking after the skin I’m living in. After a whole lotta trial and error, these are 3 skincare treatments that actually delivered.

Wondering what’s really worth it in your 40s? Here’s a few that made the cut:

1. DermaSilk (microdermabrasion): It’s like a gentle skin polish. My face feels like butter afterward. 10/10 will do again and again.

2. Laser Hair Removal: As someone with Eastern European genes…no explanation needed. Just a big no to chin hairs, thank-you-so-much.

If you could only choose ONE book to read over and over again… what would it be?

Someone asked me this on a podcast I recorded with @thedanielleamos - and of course, my mind went completely blank (why does that always happen? 😅).

But Danielle said something I loved:
“The book stays the same… but you change.”
That’s what makes re-reading so powerful. A great book meets you differently every time; because you’re not the same person you were when you first picked it up.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how certain books imprint on us. How they stay with us, speak to us in new ways, and sometimes say exactly what we need to hear ... right when we need it.

Just arrived in our favourite place in the world: Tofino. 🌊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every June, as the school year winds down and life feels like it’s moving at double speed, we come here. It’s like a gravitational pull at this exact time of the year every year see the last picture for how little the boys were 🥹

No big agenda here. Just us, the waves, and a little breathing room to land after a month of rushing, wrapping up, and running on empty. Worth the 9 hour drive and the kids turning green through those winding roads 🤢.

I’m writing this with tea in hand, curled up in an Adirondack chair, listening to the waves crash in the background and my kids splashing in the freezing water (how they can do that is beyond me - you all know how I feel about cold water 🥶).

There’s something about this place that hits different. Tofino is where we make our most meaningful memories as a family ...without trying.

The quiet, the wild coastline, the slow mornings. It’s like therapy in destination form...everything runs on a different frequency here.
