A chocolate frosty instantly brings me back to my childhood so was pretty pumped to create a healthy nutritionist-approved version of a Healthier Chocolate Frosty that also happens to be vegan, gluten free and is just as delicious as the original! There’s something about eating with a spoon versus a straw that is so much more satisfying, right? This Skinny Chocolate Frosty is an awesome summer treat that is perfect for adults or kids. It’s perfectly (and naturally) sweetened and just the right consistency – like a thick milkshake.
You can add a teaspoon of instant espresso powder if you want to kick it up a notch for the adults! Or you could even add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter or other nut butter to boost the protein and add a yummy twist. Whatever your take is, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
I love creating healthier versions of my favourite recipes – it’s so satisfying! Check out my other favourite, this Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie (just like a frosty to be honest) that tastes just like mint chocolate chip ice cream but is made with fresh mint, avocados and spinach. For REAL!

I would totally try this but unfortunately I can’t eat bananas! I see so many great dairy free cold treats but they all use bananas. Are there any other alternatives you can suggest?
Jenna says
I just noticed there was no mention of what to do with the maple syrup? Is that optional?:)
Tori says
yes! it’s just to add sweetness

I made this & halved the recipe. WOWIE is it delicious! I’m lactose intolerant and miss frostys. I added peanut butter because I love it with chocolate & bananas. Next time I might add a splash of Baileys. Yum!
