Most of us aren’t overwhelmed because we don’t have enough. We’re overwhelmed because we have too much.

I put off cleaning out my closet for an embarrassingly long time. It always felt like a whole thing, you know? And every time I tried, I’d find a reason to keep something. Maybe one day. It still fits, technically. I paid good money for that. Sound familiar?

Then one night, two glasses of cab sauv in, something finally clicked. I stopped folding and searching for more hangers and started actually looking. And what I saw was a closet full of things I was keeping just in case, just because, just out of habit. None of which is a good enough reason.

So I got ruthless. Hadn’t worn it in 6 months? Gone. And here’s the thing nobody tells you: I forgot what I got rid of by the next morning. That’s the silent cost of keeping it all. It takes up space you don’t even realize you’re losing. Not just in your closet. In your head.

Here’s what stayed:

Jeans that actually fit. Neutral basics I can layer endlessly. Crisp, classic button-downs. Quality outerwear that lasts seasons, not trends. Classic shoes (the pre-Covid heels that were never comfortable anyway, bye). Simple, timeless jewellery, 99% from @soprettycaracotter.

That’s it. That’s the whole formula.

The goal was never a perfect closet. It’s a lighter life. 🤍

My next project? Teaching my boys that tossing something haphazardly in the cupboard and closing the door does not count as putting it away 😂

Here’s how I pulled together this soft, springy Easter table using pieces I already had at home:

1. Start with a simple base. I love a subtle checkered pattern, but any pastel or even a crisp white tablecloth works beautifully here.

2. Layer in natural textures. I used rattan placemats I’ve had for years and paired them with my favourite everyday dishes. Nothing fancy, just pieces that feel collected and lived in.

3. Add a few thoughtful details! Thrifted brass bunnies, a loose bouquet of chamomile (the flower of the season imo), and a little ribbon tied around gold candlesticks to soften everything for spring.

It’s simple, a little nostalgic, and the kind of table that makes you want to sit a little longer.

Now this is a carrot DIY I can get behind 🥕😉

After my recent… lobster claw situation (if you know, you know 🦞), I felt like I owed you a carrot moment that actually delivers. And thankfully, this one does.

You just need two things from the grocery store: fresh carrots (tops on!) and tulips 🌷

Pop them into a vase, let them do their thing, and suddenly you look like the kind of person who really has it together this spring.

Perfect for Easter brunch, dinner, or honestly just making your kitchen feel a little more alive this time of year 🐰
