Gosh, this week has taught me a lot. I love a good pivot.

There are countless things that I love so very much about Charlie. His big heart, his talent, his charisma. At the top of the list? It’s perseverance. If you look up resilient in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Charlie. He just doesn’t give up. 🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He got accepted to the Real Madrid soccer camp last summer and we knew that we simply had to make the trip happen for him. Between the Jetlag and home sickness it was a lot. Max and I were taking a trip to London (first ever 1:1 trip with him!) so we hopped on a plane to Madrid go see our boy and give him the love and support he needed. It’s pretty special getting to be a part of a family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As he grows older, I was telling Charles the other day that I feel like I am less needed. More like Charles is stepping in to be his number one which of course I understand. While I didn’t want him to be homesick. It sure was nice to know that I still play a very important role as his mama, and that I could make things better just by being there for him.

I absolutely love seeing him play and watching him shine. I know he’ll look back on this trip with fond memories and hope he feels so proud of himself.
