After over a year of dreaming and planning, the Fraîche x Bambi & Birdie spring foodie pyjama collection is HERE! We paired them with a recipe for each of the adorable 4 prints, and are sharing the Peach Pancake recipe with you in this post, keep reading!
I absolutely love how this collection turned out: dreamy custom watercolour prints of my favourite foods printed on the softest pj’s ever. Inspired by some of my favourite foods and recipes, there are 4 cute prints in this collection, with a unique recipe card for each to match! My boys and I have slept in Bambi & Birdie pyjamas for years now; they make the best sleepwear!
One of the things I love most about Bambi & Birdie is that the company was born in Vancouver by two longtime best friends that happen to both be moms of young children. When Ali and Brittany, the founders, approached me about co-creating a collection I jumped at the chance!
The pyjamas come in a variety of sizes including infant, kids and ladies styles. The kids sets come in either a tank with shorts or a long sleeved version with pants. And since there is nothing more fun than matching your little, we created a ladies tank set with a little frill on the tank and shorts.
All of the styles are made out of the softest bamboo material that feels amazing on and is also great for summer thanks to the light-weight and breathable fabric.
Here is a rundown of all of the prints!
PEACH
My personal favourite! This print perfectly represents the Okanagan! We paired this print with a fluffy Peach Pancake recipe (below).
WATERMELON
Pretty and vibrant watermelons are paired with a recipe for creamy (and healthy) Watermelon & Strawberry Popsicles. Breakfast picnics with popsicles come highly recommended;)
AVOCADO
Adorable little watercolour avocados (one of Max’s favourite foods) include a Green Smoothie recipe that kids will adore!
TACOS
I love the little happy faces on these tacos – I included a recipe for Sneaky Mommy Tacos that hides all kinds of veggies inside.
The collection is live now, head over to Bambi & Birdie to shop! I can’t wait to see all of you rocking your foodie Pj’s!
Peach Pancakes
Peach Pancakes
These fluffy pancakes are dotted with peaches - so yummy! You can use fresh or frozen peaches for these. Note that depending on how juicy your peaches are you may want to add 1-2 extra tablespoons of buttermilk to your batter if it's too thick.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or vegan butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup sugar or coconut sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk*
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups diced fresh or frozen peaches**
Instructions
-
Melt the butter in a saucepan or in the microwave and set aside to cool.
-
In a large bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients: both flours, sugar, baing powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, bet the eggs with a fork or whisk and add the buttermilk, vanilla and cooled butter. Stir in the diced peaches.
-
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just to combine (don't over stir). It will stil look lumpy.
-
Heat a griddle or pan with a small amount of vegetable oil over medium heat. Pour around 1/2 cup of the batter at a time into the pan and cook on both sides until golden brown and serve!
Recipe Notes
*if you don't have buttermilk mix 1 3/4 cups of your favourite milk with 2 tablespoons of either white vinegar or lemon juice and let it sit for 10 minutes before using.
** canned peaches (drained) will also work!
Thank you Jennifer Hodder for the photography and One Peak Creative for the sweet videos!

You have baking powder listed twice, which measurement is for the baking powder and which is for the baking soda?
Thank you!

Sorry Christa I updated it right away!

Hi Tori! So when substituting buttermilk, can I use any kind of plant-based milk? Or does it need to be cow milk? Thank you xx
Tori Wesszer says

Can I use 2 cups of all purpose flour instead of 1 all purpose and 1 whole wheat ?!
Tori says
Yes that should work!
