Summertime entertaining should be effortless and beautiful, and this Blackberry Crostini recipe ticks both boxes. Taking less than 10 minutes to make, these beauties will make you look like a superstar without breaking a sweat. Summer weather is finally here after a slow start, and with it comes ALL the produce that I wait all year for – and local berries are near the top of the list! I moved back to the Okanagan for the summers (sorry winter, but I’m just not that in to you). And what is there not to love? With a stunning lake a stone’s throw away, hiking trails at every turn, epic farmers markets and more wineries than people (ok, maybe not but a girl can dream), summer has my heart.
Summer is also a time where we find we have guests popping over last minute and a season where last minute get-togethers are the norm (and always the most fun, right?). Since our home seems to always be filled with fresh local produce, I get so much joy out of finding new ways to show it off! This Blackberry Crostini is the perfect appetizer when you don’t know what to make and don’t have an hour to be in the kitchen. Because who has time for that?
Blackberries are the star here; we used the Tofutti vegan cream cheese and LOVED the flavours that came together! If you aren’t dairy-free you can use regular cream cheese, goat cheese, or whipped feta instead.
If you’re looking for other healthy easy appetizer ideas check out this refreshing and showy Watermelon Ceviche, these crazy-good Salmon Cakes with homemade tartar sauce, or these foolproof Lettuce Wraps – just swap out vegan ground for the chicken if you want to make them plant-based!
Happy entertaining my friends!

Blackberry Crostini
A few simple ingredients come together here to create and elegant and fun appetizer or snack that anyone is sure to love!
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 1/2 cup soft cheese (we used Tofutti cream cheese)
- 2 tablespoons local honey
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- mint leaves (for garnish)
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
Instructions
-
Slice baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices. Brush each side of bread with olive oil. In a large grill pan on high heat, toast baguette slices for 2-3 minutes each side or until crispy and slightly golden. Alternately you can use the outdoor grill.
-
Spread a layer of soft cheese on each baguette slice and top with blackberries cut in half (optional, but it will save the berries from falling off the crostini - I have a feeling your guests will thank you!). Drizzle lightly with honey, top with a small mint leaf, and serve!
