Our renovation series continues with our Powder Room reveal on our main floor. This is probably the most fun room of the house and has more colour than the rest of the house and I am in love with it!
The Wallpaper
The most eye-catching part of this room, we went with a bold print on the walls that really gives this powder room character. I love the soft blue background and how it looks paired with the rest of the powder room! It added colour in a vintage inspired pattern without being over the top. I’m typically allergic to colour but LOVE this! Here is the link to the wallpaper with a touch of pink (would be so cute in a girl’s bedroom) or here is the one that I have (a bit more challenging to order).
The Tile
We have 2 types of tile in our powder room and I am so happy with how it turned out! The floor tile is a hexagon marble from Olympia tile, and the wall tile is a handmade subway tile from Fireclay tile. We went with Alabaster as the grout colour for the wall tiles and white for the floor. In truth I don’t know if I would recommend white again for the floor… I mean, I have two boys and a husband who works in construction, let’s just say that keeping it clean is a full time job!
The Sink and Vanity
All of our facets are Kohler and I am so pleased with them: these are from the Artifacts collection! The finish is polished nickel and has held up so well since we had it installed. For our countertop we went with a Silestone Statuario in polished (same as the rest of the house) and had Norelco design a custom vanity when I stumbled upon some inspiration on Pinterest. The hardware is from Emtek – this is the Norwich knob in polished chrome. The mirror was a score from Homesense!
The Details
Of course no room is complete without the little details. We sourced this adorable mini antique chandelier from Sadie Ann McMurray in Mission BC – we worked with them way back when we had our company Charlie Ford Vintage and I highly recommend them. All of the lights are refurbished and in working order! The glass door knobs with the polished nickel back plate along with the towel bar are from Emtek. The glass jar is from Homsense… and I’ve collected the soaps from a number of places. The baskets under the sink are from Canadian Tire!
And there you have it, Our Powder Room Reveal! I look forward to sharing the rest of our home tour with you, if you want to see some of our other spaces you can check out our Laundry Room Reveal, our Kitchen Reveal, and our Top 14 Kitchen Reno Favourites.
