This Sweetheart Strawberry Frosty is a creamy, berry-filled, dreamy dairy-free milkshake. We won’t judge you if you decide to add a shot of coconut rum: prepare to be totally transported to a tropical paradise!
Have you ever tried making a milkshake at home with coconut milk? It is SO dang good people! It’s creamy and decadent and dairy-free. Toss in some frozen strawberries and a splash of cranberry juice (any other pink juice will work) and we’re talking about something that is super-duper delicious. If’ you’re like me and missing sunshine and sand between your toes right around now just add an ounce of coconut rum… and one of those little umbrellas won’t hurt.
How to Make a Dairy-Free Milk Shake
Whether you’re vegan, lactose intolerant, or whatever the case may be, you don’t need dairy to make an incredible at-home frosty or milkshake. Coconut, almond, oat and soy milk can all be used; you just won’t get quite as creamy of a drink. We used coconut milk (light or full fat works – full fat will be much more rich) in this recipe when we made it. Let’s just say there were zero leftovers.
Best Blender for Smoothies & Shakes
My all-time favourite kitchen tool is my blender. We have a Vitamix Ascent 3500 (in white of course!) and it is truly amazing for our smoothies, soups, sauces, shakes, cocktails and more. This kitchen appliance has been one of my greatest investments! You want your Sweetheart Frosty nice and smooth, after all. Just say no to chunky frosties lol.
