If there is one thing that can transform a space from ok to WOW, it’s choosing the proper window coverings! Here is a sneak peak of our spaces with all of the window coverings that absolutely completed our home.
We partnered with Q Design Centre to find the perfect window coverings for all of our spaces, and I have to say, I’m soooo in love! I had no idea how much of a difference it would make. The fabrics and workmanship are all such incredible quality, from the stitching (handmade and sewn within 1/8” accuracy) to the classy hardware and fully lined drapes (at no extra charge)… I was truly impressed.
If you’re shopping for window coverings, they have a Spring Sale happening NOW, with 15% off all collections using code Spring15 from now until April 30, 2024!
Lindsay from Q Design Centre made it all so easy. I thought that the process would be daunting, but a couple of measurements with a simple form to fill out (to get that perfect fit) and a quick phone call and we had it all figured out. They offer super helpful drapery stylists if you need design help for FREE (I found this very valuable).
If you have a unique window that needs some love they can do complicated arched and extra-long windows too. You can visit their website to get all the pricing information and details on how to order here (note: shipping is FREE for both Canada and continental US on almost every product). Q Design Centre carries made to order drapery, shades, bench seats, toss pillows and decorative hardware that are available in the online shop.
We had our window coverings professionally installed (it wasn’t expensive at all) which I recommend, even for someone like me with a contractor hubby – there’s only so much of a renovation a marriage can take!
Here is a quick “window” tour of our home with the links to the hardware and fabric that we used for each room!
Completing your home with the perfect window coverings!
Dining Room Drapes
We have an open living space and spend heaps of time in the kitchen and living area. These 100% linen in Oyster hang to perfection – it frames up our big picture windows so nicely! The window coverings really softened up the spaces, especially this one. We used satin brass hardware for this space.
Laundry Room Shade
Not unlike most moms, I log a lot of time in the laundry room. To make the job of folding clothes on repeat more enjoyable, Charles designed a long counter that is a bit lower than the standard height with a huge picture window so I could gaze out the window as I try to find pairs of socks (how do they go missing by the way… like, where do they go?). In any case, this shade in Buffalo Check really completed the space!
Master Bedroom Drapes
To make the room more cozy we went with floor to ceiling 100% Linen drapes in Oyster (with a cotton lining) along with 1 3/8” silver metal hardware. So dreamy!
Max’s Bedroom Drapes
I’m not one to go crazy with colour but wanted to do something a bit different in Max’s room, so went with the Cozy Linen in Indigo with blackout lining and a 1 3/8” black hardware. I ended up doing a bit of an antique nautical theme in his room and it is one of my favourite spaces.
Charlie’s Bedroom Drapes
Charlie is getting older, so I figured a modern cabin vibe was a look he could grow in to! We went with the Cozy Linen in Rhino with blackout lining with the black 1 3/8” hardware and it was PERFECT. The Rhino is such a nice shade of grey, I love how it fits in the room.
Pink Guest Bedroom Drapes
Having a house full of boys meant that I got to design a guest bedroom that was more on the feminine side – and this room fits the bill! These drapes (House Linen in Pale Pink) are one of my FAVS, so soft and romantic: we went with blackout lining here too and silver 1 3/8” hardware here as well.
Black Guest Bedroom Shade
The window in this room didn’t allow for drapes (since we renovated we had to put the bulk head somewhere, and this room was the one it ended up in). I love the shade in here! We went with the Geyer Stripe in here.
Reading Nook Drapes
Our basement is definitely a relaxed space where the boys can let loose. We created this sweet little reading area and ordered a custom channel track in brushed nickel for the drapes which was genius (thank you Lindsay for the suggestion – so smart!). We chose the House Linen in Fog for this space.
Guest Bathroom Shade
Are you starting to see a pattern here (lol, pardon the pun!). I love stripes. This shade is the Andy Stripe in Sky – it’s like a French blue which is a nice contrast to all of the white.
Office Striped Shade
I spend a lot of time on my computer, and was so happy that I had the chance to design an office space right off of our pantry (so basically I live here!). The Murray Stripe shade in Macadamia MADE the space.
Playroom Striped Shade
They playroom is a small space but so fun! This Murray Stripe in black was such a nice compliment to this room with the world map mural.
Fraîche Office
We also recently added Q Design window coverings to the Fraîche Office and it truly was the perfect finishing touch. Head here for all the details on this renovation!
Thank you for following along on our renovation journey! The products featured in this post were gifted to us by Q Design Centre – all opinions are my own.
