Today I’m sharing my go-to DIY croutons (say goodbye to store bought croutons for life) along with my favourite soup recipes for those colder days.
Soup is the perfect meal when you need a little comfort, it’s like a hug in a bowl. We almost always have a batch in the fridge or freezer (love meals that can be frozen); it’s so easy to make and so great to have on hand. And what’s a bowl of soup without croutons to go with it?
These croutons pair perfectly with any creamy soup or is a DREAM on French Onion Soup. We also have a batch made in our pantry ready to go because hey, you never know when you’re going to need a bowl of soup!
We try and make things homemade as much as we can and have been sharing our go to basics recipes on the blog all year if you want to try and so the same. It’s so much easier than you’d think and in my opinion so much more satisfying! You’ll find recipes like Homemade Tzatziki, Honey Mustard Sauce, and my kids’ favourite Applesauce in the Basics section of the blog.
If you’re already in the soup making mood and need some broth, I came across this homemade Veggie broth recipe on Jill’s site and can’t wait to try it. It looks so easy to make and I think it’s such a great idea.

My Favourite Soup Recipes

This soup is naturally creamy and I love how much broccoli you can pack in here. There’s also a great vegan option and it’s naturally gluten-free!

Hamburger Soup
This hamburger soup is a classic recipe (the 80’s called and asked for its soup lol) that is so hearty and perfect for winter months. We made this one vegan but you can use whatever type of ground you wish!
