Between school forms, practices, and the first cold of the season, that cozy fall Martha-Stewart-fantasy can feel a little out of reach. Today I’m sharing one of our most-loved recipes, Sheetpan Perogies, from my Fraîche Table meal plan, plus easy ways to make fall dinners feel cozy again, the real-life way.
The September Reset
There’s something about September that feels like coming home. Summer pulls us outward. Long evenings, dinners on patios, weekends away, sandy feet, flexible schedules. Fun and fleeting. Then almost overnight, the air shifts. The backpacks and lunchboxes come back out. The calendar starts filling up from top to bottom.
What better time for a reset than right now, in the kitchen, with a little help from Fraîche Table. Routine has a way of falling apart first at dinner. Everything else gets a system, school pickup times, sports schedules, lunch routines, but “what’s for dinner” tends to get figured out on the fly, night after night.
Fraîche Table will make the reset a reality. Your meals are planned before the week even starts, groceries sorted into a ready-to-shop list, delivery available with one click through Instacart for those who’d rather skip the store entirely (hi, me).
It’s just one part of every day (dinner) handled, so the rest of the reset feels a little lighter. Right now, our back-to-school sale is on: get 20% off, use code BACK2SCHOOL at checkout before September 13, 2026.
How to Avoid September Burnout
In my head, fall is a Martha Stewart circa-1990 situation. Maybe you feel the same.
But sometimes… reality looks a little different. Real life for you. September comes in hot with brand new schedules, activities, and new routines. And right in the middle of all of it, everyone still needs to eat. Every. Single. Night. Dinner is relentless like that.
I still want the cozy kitchen and table everyone is excited to eat at. I just don’t think we should have to exhaust ourselves to get there. And I know this job usually falls on mom, so I’ve become fiercely protective of you. I want to talk about how to avoid the September burnout.
I spent a lot of years thinking the women who “had it together” were simply better at doing everything themselves. A few years of wisdom and two boys later, I’m much more interested in finding the things I don’t have to do myself. Turns out, asking for a little help isn’t so bad. Especially when the help tastes absolutely delicious.
Dinner Is More Than the Recipe
Fraîche Table starts with something very simple: what if you didn’t have to decide what’s for dinner every day? Each week, the meals are already planned for you with nourishing, family-friendly recipes designed by me! A Registered Dietitian.
Every recipe I create has to pass two tests: does it nourish you, and does it taste really darn good? A recipe can check every nutrition box in the world, but if nobody wants seconds, I’ve missed the point.
It’s funny. The second something good starts smelling like dinner, everyone in the house suddenly finds a reason to wander into the kitchen… My dad included, he still can’t resist popping in when something’s simmering on the stove, though I suspect the real reason is the company, not the cooking.
A Little Help for the Fall Season Ahead
If you’re heading into fall wanting to cook more at home, feed your family well, and feel a little more on top of dinner without burning yourself out, Fraîche Table was built for you. We created the meal plan to solve a very common challenge: getting balanced meals on the table before bedtime (lol).
And since fall is exactly when new routines start to stick, there’s no better time to make Fraîche Table part of yours. Our back-to-school sale is live now: save 20% now – just use the code BACK2SCHOOL at checkout before September 13. It works out to only $1.85 a week. I did the math. That’s less than that mediocre cup of coffee you bought in the drive-through.
Now, Let’s Make a Fall Dinner
I couldn’t possibly send you into fall after all this food talk without actually feeding you. I’m serving up a cozy fall recipe that perfectly sums up what I want to bring into your home this season: aka Sheetpan Perogies. A Fraîche Table favourite for very good reason.
Cozy. Comforting. Family-friendly. Perhaps most importantly, easy.
Fraîche Table Sheetpan Perogies
Sheetpan Perogies
Caramelized cabbage, crispy perogies, and smoky farmer’s sausage get a lift from tangy Dijon, fresh dill, and chives in this low effort, high reward sheetpan dinner. We recommend using either potato and cheese or cheddar perogies.
Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen perogies
- 1 farmer's sausage (approximately 300 grams) sliced into rounds or half-moons
- 2 cups diced cabbage approximately 1 inch chunks
- 1/2 yellow onion cut into 1 inch chunks
- 2 carrots peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
For the sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chives finely chopped
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425 F. Line a large sheet-pan with parchment paper.
-
Add the perogies, sausage, cabbage, onion, and carrots to the sheet pan. Drizzle with the olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder, dried dill, salt, and black pepper.
-
Toss everything well directly on the pan until evenly coated, then spread into a single, even layer. Make sure the perogies are lying flat against the pan for the best browning.
-
Roast for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, flip the perogies and sausage, and stir the vegetables so they caramelize evenly.
-
Return the pan to the oven and roast for around another 20 minutes, until the perogies are golden and crisp, the sausage is browned, and the cabbage and carrots are tender with caramelized edges.
-
While the perogies roast, make the sauce. In a bowl, stir together the sour cream, dill, chives, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
-
Serve the hot sheet pan perogies with the sauce on the side for dipping, or drizzle generously over the dish just before serving.
