Charlie is officially a TEEN! 🥹
Happy 13th birthday to my sweet boy.

Charlie, you have brought more joy, love, and light into my life than I ever could have imagined. Watching you grow into the strong, kind, talented, incredible human you are has been the greatest gift. You are so much like Papa (my dad), and that is a beautiful compliment.

My wish for you is to keep living with courage. Be afraid - and do it anyway. I see this bravery in you, and it’s what will lead you to a life filled with adventure, purpose, and accomplishments you’ll be proud of.

Gosh, this week has taught me a lot. I love a good pivot.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are countless things that I love so very much about Charlie. His big heart, his talent, his charisma. At the top of the list? It’s perseverance. If you look up resilient in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Charlie. He just doesn’t give up. 🥹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He got accepted to the Real Madrid soccer camp last summer and we knew that we simply had to make the trip happen for him. Between the Jetlag and home sickness it was a lot. Max and I were taking a trip to London (first ever 1:1 trip with him!) so we hopped on a plane to Madrid go see our boy and give him the love and support he needed. It’s pretty special getting to be a part of a family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As he grows older, I was telling Charles the other day that I feel like I am less needed. More like Charles is stepping in to be his number one which of course I understand. While I didn’t want him to be homesick. It sure was nice to know that I still play a very important role as his mama, and that I could make things better just by being there for him.

I absolutely love seeing him play and watching him shine. I know he’ll look back on this trip with fond memories and hope he feels so proud of himself.

London … I’m already planning my next trip back 🇬🇧

The charm. The history. The beautiful doors and stunning, detailed architecture.. I can’t quite explain it - but it feels like home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everywhere I turn feels like walking into a painting.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Europe has always been tugging at my heart. This is the first time on this side of the pond since having kids and oh my, how I missed it. And now I get to experience it all through the eyes of my youngest son, Max: it’s just him and I ❤️

Someone described it to me “it’s like a ticket back to the olden days .. where manners and old fashioned manners, etiquette and chivalry was an every day thing.”

Give me all the slow mornings, pretty pastries and cups@of tea, and moments that make me pause. I didn’t know how much my heart needed this trip.
